I'm going to change the back end of my fz6n. I don't like the way it looks.
1. Im thinking to redo the pipes like a buell pipes under the bike.

2. New smaller indicator's. Maybe LED's:confused1:

3.Clean up the back where the pipe's were..

Do you guy have any idea's???

I was thinking something like these:

If theres one thing I hate about my R1, its the undertail, looks the biz, but cooks arse... looks v's practicality ?.

The only thing to look out for changing to a custom under seat exhaust is wheel clearance for suspension travel.

Personally I'm a fan of under seat exhaust cleans up the lines of a bike so much.

If you go for under seat exhaust you can adapt a bkt to mount off exhaust mounting straps to mount number plate & blinkers, you can even look into the billet number plate holders that have built in blinkers.

Have you looked into applying heat insulation under seat or under tail.

Yeah mate.
Got underseat and associated panels insulated, gutted both cats in Y peice, and although made a noticeable difference, heat is there to stay.
Thought of going aftermarket exhaust ( despite loving the stock), but from all reports, they generate even more heat.. So its something I have to accept, even if I dont like it.

I doubt a good quality set of pipes or system would generate MORE heat than stock, the Arata and Sato and Akra systems I have mapped on the dyno I haven't felt being HOT per say, other than where my right leg/foot is sitting, usually on the dyno, next to the peg. Considering that is a stationary bike (with fans hitting the front of the bike) you'd think the whole bike moving through air would be even better....... but your call.

Sorry to thread-jack Rossco, but Johnny, did you buy high quality heat tape? There's a huge difference between putting cheap stuff in v's the top quality gear.

Locally Rocket Industries bring in the Thermo-tec range of heat 'tape'...see here (http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/search.php?keyword=thermo-tec&Submit=Search)

I've bought a bit of gear from these guys, postage hurts so pickup if possible, but its TOP QUALITY!!!

+1 on the thread hijack, appollogies Rossco, but I guess you wanting the undertail for looks it is related in a way, so is the reason I brought it up.. Good luck and keep updated mate :ayyy:

Birdman45, thanx for your responce, Glad to hear that and definately will give it some more thought as hearing that has changed the train of thought I was on, all be it the wrong train :o.

JasonBW, thanx for the link, your right, used the cheap and nasty insulation, so nasty that its has started peeling off in places. Will get onto the proper stuff, cheers mate :)

Started. I don't know if i like it still...
I still think the pipe's need to go underthe bike and the plate can go up more. Looks bad now in the photo but has 150mm + over the tyre.
