OK..so I managed to get to my first bike shop today to look for a Jacket to fit my 9 year old.
Couldnt believe the amount of gear for sale over here at the moment and all on 50% sale price.... One Piece leathers starting at 199 pounds ($400).
Well I got the Jacket below for 30 Pounds ($60).. it has CE armour in it and is really well made...
(Even got the Adult copy for myself for 50 pounds (that one has removable liner and hard armour)...
then I managed to get a set of proper bike waterproof trousers with (agin built in CE armour) for 20 pounds ($40).....

LOL, dont matter, they'll grow out of them before they get to wear them :lmao:
( considering its now illegal to have under 12 yr olds as pillions)
Oggy, AU licence valid or do you need an international licence ? ,

Been Sunny everyday and 22 degrees (so far).....
Yep kids do grow out of the gear quickly, but thats no excuse not to wear it (just a better reason that it should be cheaper).
I hired the car with the Aussie licence. Couldnt find my UK one, but i'd always use the Aussie one here as too much paperwork for the police to deal with overseas' licenses... I imagine I'm already banned here with all the speed camera's everywhere.

Remembered reading the minimum age for pillions was 12 yrs old somewhere, but after a search turns out I was wrong..
Minimum Pillion Passenger Age or Requirements Print E-mail
Taking children for a ride requires careful thought and planning for their safety.
Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia state that there is no minimum age requirement for being a pillion passenger. They state that the requirements are:
'A pillion passenger must be able to sit on the seat and both feet must be able to rest comfortably on the foot pegs'
However, in NSW the minimum age is 8 years.
NSW
Any passenger carried on a motorbike (not in a sidecar) must be eight years of age or older. Children under eight are only allowed to be carried in the sidecar of a motorbike.
Sidecars must not be operated if:
* The passenger is not safely seated.
* The passenger is not wearing an approved helmet.
