least they admit the fuck up, unlike Honda for so (too) long.

that is true. LOL Honda will deny everything right up until they HAVE to admit something and then recall it. Makes them look like dicks to all the guys they spin the "your bike is the only one" line to before it. Best bikes made Honda I rekon, worst company running it though.

So if the VR doesn't burn you, the fuel will?
Hmm this makes me think about a thread titled 'Replace or Return'.

Only one reason Oggy; the ducatistis keep insisting that their bikes are as mechanically sound as the japs ... they're bringing it onto themselves.

:confused1: maybe 848 owners better get this recall done quick smart, I'm not implying that thread is about an 848 :)

Seriouslly ?????????????
I thought they were joking..... :dancesmiley:
Theres about to be a recall on KTM front brakes seizing on very soon (an official recall that is)... perhaps I should have had a joint recall, then less chance of hurting the precious..........
What was that quote again ?????
"A recall is telling someone that they have found a problem and notifying them that they have improved parts to fix the problem....Ducati are seriously working on the second part of the solution..."

Another recall: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/recall/recall-ducati-streetfighter-1098r-1198s-superbikes/
That seems to be an American one. Perhaps the clamps were correctly done for Aussie models?

On a more holistic level, atleast Ducati have not left the various motor racing series' around the world like the rice burners.
Ducati is a much smaller company than the rice burners yet somehow they're still committed unlike the others. Soichiro Honda once said "without racing Honda is nothing" and then they pulled the plug on F1, AMA SBK, AUSBK...
For this reason alone i'd never buy another new jap bike again (road or trail).
That's my philosophical view for today.

They're like the lead character's job in Fight Club.
Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.
Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of accidents?
Narrator: You wouldn't believe.
Business woman on plane: Which car company do you work for?
Narrator: A major one.

there is recalls on nearly every car and bike that comes out a dud fuel hose ok it might be the hose supplyer that screwed up not ducati ever think of that ????
recall like frames cracking i think are a lot more serous more so when the company dose not want to fix the problem untill its made to by law ( we all know what company i am talking about ) at least ducati has come straight out and said blah blah come get it fixed
unlike the other company waiting 2 years then saying ok you fixed the cracking your self ............. good no new frame for you
i think more the issue is when something dose go wrong the company should live up to the warrinty they give and fix problems for free rather than shafting ya and sleazzing away NFI ..........since when is a fork seal a ware item like a light globe or tyre ???????..........not happy JAN

I had a friend who had a break pad snap on his 3 month 3000km old fireblade. It cracked in the caliper, didnt cause much of an issue as it was all held in place but i mean for f***s sake, its your brakes!
Honda said it was a ware item and would not warrent it. . . . . .
after ALOT of fighting he got it through. . . . . not that it was even expencive, just the principle. . . .
I'd rather own a bike from a company that says "yeah, its screwed, we will fix it for everyone even if yours isnt screwed" instead of "wonder if we cna get away with that" ala suzuki with the frames . . .
