i was scanning thru e bay the other night and came across some bloke selling
a akrapovic system for a tls
had a look and thought fark they look like my old pipes
e mailed him and it was the bloke who brought my tls of me from qld
story has it, the bike spat 4th gear and desroyed the engine and cases:(
and while he was waiting to source som parts he was riding around on his sv650 and procedded to right that off on some gravel road and breaking some bones and being bed bound for a few weeks
very unhappy man he is i tell you
well at least hes got some of his cash back ,the pipes sold for 950 bucks
heres the email he sent me......
hey murray, 4th gear let go, bits of the box went everywhere, thru the crank bearings, the rod bearings the cases have signs of damage too.
so i let her sit while i was collecting bits to rebuild her, while i was i was riding my sv650 showbike, came accross some bad road that was unsigned, causing me to crash heavily. wrote my bike off and put me off my feet for a few weeks. with a new born baby, i decided that im not going to ride for a few years, i already miss it and my TL.... it was the most enjoyable bike i have ridden to be honest.
so with no more bikes choice, chosen, i was left with 2 broken bikes to fix with no more riding to be done, so instead ive opted to part them out, make my money back on them both this way.
it really is a shame for the TL to be ended this way, as i said, i loved to ride that bike the most out of the many bikes ive riden, if and when i return to riding i'll be looking for another again
