If anyone in newcastle wants to lend a bloke a hand and knows anything about Hyosung electrical malfunctions. I NEED HELP! Drinks on me:beer:
it's not the side stand relay. That seems to be working just fine. but ever so often, like right now there is some kinda mafunction that stops my bike from starting. (complete ignition failure)
This generally has me stranded in some out of the way place with no chance of rescue, So I mess around with the wiring under the seat for an hour or so get the shits and bounce up and down. hey prosto just like madgic it works again.:cursing::storm:
Any imput or Idea's would be welcomed with great thanx!

Does it generally start to work again after the bike has cooled down?
My uneducated guess would be the R/R
But who knows with hydrobungs.
What model hyodung is it?

Had a similar problem on a KR250 years back turned out to be the keyswitch.
Anyway, it taught me something, you HAVE to isolate the problem.... i.e. spend a few minutes in a different area until you can say that's def not the problem... that'll narrow down the problem.
Also is it happening only after the bike has warmed up? You mention stranded which indicates it's only happening once you've ridden for a while... could indicate a heating up problem, like a poor ground connection.. get's hot, expands and severs connection... check the ground to frame lugs by undoing any you find, file the contact, clean and refit.
So next time it happens... pause... get off the bike and check again, start from front of the bike and work back, dick around with the key for a while, when satisfied it's not that move to the kill switch... rock it for ages trying then move on (CBR's got notorius for this when used in all weather - rocking the killswitch would 'clean' the connection then it'd work!).... try the clutch switch (pulling the clutch in and out a heap of times).. move to the sidestand, then under the seat go gentle, only moving bits that you can isolate, constant trying.. it'll take time... but you'll narrow the problem down and it'll save you time in the long run.

My Hyodung used to completely turn off when going constant highway speeds. One minute they key would be on and moving at 100km, the next all the lights go out including the dash and the engine dies... But, still rolling at 100km/hr, no gear box lock up or anything... was fricken weird... turned out to be something wrong with they ignition where they key goes in... Hyodung replaced it under warranty.
My hyosung has never given me any grief but I know the starter solenoid is quite an infamous fault. If you've got some WD40 or contact cleaner give that a shot but it'll need to be replaced.

my mate had a hyosung gt650 and it used to do the same thing all the time, the way he got it started was to wiggle the cable that comes out of the clutch lever, or their might be another directly underneith it, but at the same time u have to hold in the clutch and press the start button, its kinda hard if you got small hands.. give it a go next time.
start with the simple things first.
Have you put a Multimeter on the battery yet?
It should put out about 13. If it dies under load e.g wen you start it, then its time for a new battery....

:clap:Cheer all I'll give it a shot, did the madgic thing again last nigh so I'll see how it goes.
I've only had the bike for a year (new)
My guess is that she's still got the shits with me for stacking her. Thrown in a few gremlins for shits and giggles.
thanx all!

if when you say you have a complete ignition failure i presume you have no dash lights, nothing at all? likely the ignition switch. tried WD down the keyhole? you can even bypass that if you can, run the whole bike off the kill switch on the handlebar :)
also: unplug wiring from stuff you don't really need to work: clutch lever switch, sidestand switch, etc. see if it all starts with each disconnection. if things still go, tape it up really well, you don't need to bridge the connection: if you unplug something and it doesn't work, 'bridge' the connection with a piece of wire with male-to-male ends, to simulate the switch working. tape it up now. go ride the bike around the block. if it doesn't fault, it was one of the things you bypassed. like a clutch lever switch or similar.
