ok after me being a pillion for as long as i can remember.
im curious, who actually Likes to pillion??
and who actually pillions to hopefully get some??

i for one cant wait to pillion, simply because a few of my female friends want a ride and its a more exciting and impressive way to rock up to a party of social gathering.

and carrying a helmet and wearing bike gear always gets strangers talking to you about weird stuff.

i also love being a pillion, almost as much as riding myself.

She's a JOY to ride with.

Plus being hugged and kept warm when the weather gets cold just adds to the bonus!

I have no probs with somebody jumping on the back of the Blade for a blast. The wife normally lives on there but have had other victims clinging for dear life as well.

As for actually being a pillion, only twice. Once through desperate need to pick up another bike. The other time was in Scotland on the back of some local geezer who spent more time on one wheel (front & back). When we got back to the pub all his mates were surprised he actually made it back without crashing. Have to say that bourbon went down well to stop the hands from shaking.

I love to take pillions. It's a bit of a drag having the extra responsibility of not killing someone but it's a great feeling to share the open road.
That said I have a mate who loves to ride pilly and perform two up wheelies on the m4. But I assure you that not all of my pillys are treated like that.

On the other hand being a pillion terrifies me, and I can only justify doing it when i'm desperate for a ride!

Nothin better than power wheelies when a pilly is on the bike, not huge wheelies but the front just lifting a little a carrying it for a bit, its truly a magical feeling.

I'd never pillioned until about 3 months ago. First I gave sykoR1 a lift back home from down south, but he weighs about 10kg, so it was like having nobody there.

Then I pillioned Franko all the way to Jindy and back! Now I feel I can pillion anyone, though I prefer riding without a pillion generally!

Re: pillioning... I have pillioned my husband on several occasions and whilst it is cramping my style somewhat... with the additional responsibility, decline in torque and all that comes with it... I love that he trusts in my ability and... surrenders!

I know from conversations I had with a couple of RAT members that it would somewhat hurt their ego if they had to be pillioned by their female partners and I must say that I can totally relate to that, as it would have to be a real emergency for me to become a pillion rider again. I guess it's got to do with letting go of CONTROL...

oh man i've done it once and wat a 5min ride it was... i was at my place on the way to mums round the corner with the rs125 and ned. I pulled onto the road ned jumped on the back NO pilly pegs and a pilly seat that slopes backwards it took about 10grand and some hard revving to get going got up the road and had to turn right then left one straight after the other ned had to jump off run across the road wait til i came arcoss then jumped back on all the while the suspension havin a hard workout. 2speed humps and 2 corners later got to mums where ned had to get off once again so i could safely make it up the drive way! :) what i journey it was i'm not allowed to pilly til august but im sure i will and as long as i dont head a helmet in the head id do it again.
